If your light has a timer, use it; an intermittent or inconsistent schedule stresses photoperiod plants and can postpone flowering.
Matching Light Intensity to Growth Stage
Lower intensity for young plants, higher as they mature. For models with 9 or 10 brightness levels, start around 25–40% for seedlings, then increase gradually through vegetative growth.

AC-powered lights plug into a standard 110V outlet and often include multiple spectrum modes — blue for vegetative growth, red for flowering, and a combined red-and-blue mode for full-cycle use. Smaller clip-on models run off a USB power port and suit single plants or small propagation areas; the two types are not interchangeable, so use only the power source your manual specifies.
Whatever you choose, watch your plants and adjust. If the leaves look pale or bleached, back the intensity down. If growth looks slow and bushy without stretching, you’ve found the right spot.
